Casting guide
From your phone to the set: how talent gets cast
What happens after your audition: the talent pool, the shortlist, the callback and the day on set.
The Kliqx casting team ·

Your audition takes one minute. What follows is the part most talent never gets to see: the casting team watching, a role that fits, a shortlist, a callback and, when the right role comes, a day on set. This guide walks you through the journey from your phone to the set, step by step, so you know what each moment is for and how to be ready for it.
You join the talent pool
When you finish the general cast, you join the Kliqx talent pool: the talent the casting team casts from. Your audition sits there with your photos, the tracks you picked and the kinds of work you want to be cast for, so when a brief arrives, the team can find you by what you do and how you come across on camera.
Keep the phone number and email you signed up with close at hand. They are how the casting team reaches you when a role is calling for someone like you.
The casting team watches
Every audition is watched by a person on the Kliqx casting team. They are not looking for perfection. They watch for presence: how you listen, how you speak, how the camera reads you, and the moments that feel like you.
- Your energy in the first seconds
- How natural you are when you talk to the lens
- Your look, your voice and the languages you speak
- The kinds of work you said you want
- The way you react when something surprises you
A role that fits
Brands, agencies and productions bring Kliqx a brief: the project, the role and the face they are after. A skincare campaign may want a fresh, natural face; a series may want a father of three; a launch may want a host who can hold a room. The casting team goes through the talent pool for the people who fit that role.
Sometimes a role needs more than the general cast shows. Then the casting team may invite you to a longer audition, recorded from your phone in the same way, with scenes and questions written for it. It is your chance to show your range.
The shortlist
For each role, the casting team brings the brand a shortlist: a handful of faces, each one seen on camera. This is where your audition does the talking. The brand watches the takes and chooses the people it wants to meet.
Not every shortlist ends in a booking, and that is part of every career on camera. Every audition you record is practice, and every shortlist means someone saw something in you.
The callback
A callback is a second look, closer to the real role. It may be another recording, a video call, or a meeting at the studio. You may read lines from the script, try on a look, or show how you move.
- Arrive on time, rested and ready
- Read anything you are sent before you come
- Bring what the brief asks for
- Wear something simple you can move in
- Ask when something is unclear: a good question shows you care about the role
The day on set
When you are booked, the day comes with a call time, a place and a team: a director or a photographer, someone on hair and make-up, someone on wardrobe, and the people making sure it all runs on time. Kliqx also prepares talent and shoots in its own studio, so your first set may be ours.
On set, listen, take direction, and give each take your full energy, the tenth as much as the first. Be kind to everyone you meet: the crew you work with today are the people who remember you tomorrow.
After the shoot, the work becomes part of your story: a campaign, an episode, a reel. Each one is something new to show the next casting team, and the next set.
Between castings
Between castings, keep growing. Watch the shows, films and campaigns you want to be in, and notice what the people in them do. Practise in front of your phone, read scenes out loud, take a class when you can, and look after your energy for the day the call comes. Talent who grow between castings arrive at the next one with more to show.
Start with one minute
Every set starts somewhere. At Kliqx, it starts with the general cast: one minute on camera, recorded live from your phone, open to new faces: models, actors, presenters and content creators, with no experience and no follower minimum. Open your phone's browser, find your light, and take your first step toward the set.
